Legal, Financial, Business & Technical Documents

Pay by word count:
OHASHI High Technology Corp.  translate technical documents, financial, business and legal documents, patents, and web sites. We also assist your in software localization. All of the translation staff have several years of translation and interpretation experience in their related fields. All translations will be edited by native speakers of the target language. Our typical rate is 24 cents to 36 cents per English word. A typical letter-size text would cost approximately $100.  If you know the word count of your document, you can multiply that with 30 cents and have some idea about the total cost of our translation.

Pay by the hour:
If you have a large quantity of documents to be translated, we have a cost-effective solution. In order to translate a vast amount of documents, it would be cheaper if you hire a full-time translation staff. However, your requirements may be temporary in nature, or you may not want to go through the trouble of hiring a permanent staff. Then, OHASHI High Technology can offer you an alternative answer. Please ask us to send you bilingual clerks or translators. For easier tasks, our bilingual clerical supports should satisfy your requirements. Only when you find that your tasks require higher-level skills, then you can ask us to send you our translators. An assignment could be for any duration, a day, one week, one month or 7 months. You can terminate your assignment with a one-day notice unless you and we agree on an alternative arrangement.

For a large project, a more cost-effective solution may be to hire many of our bilingual clerks and a few of our translators as supervisors.

Our bilingual clerical support starts at $20 per hour and translation support starts at $30 per hour.

Japanese Patent Search & Patent Translation

OHASHI High Technology Corp. has been in the business of Japanese patent search and Japanese patent translation for almost 10 years. We have translated many patents from and into Japanese in various technical fields; semiconductor, computer software, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, mechanical to name a few. We have assisted U.S. law firms with Japanese translation and bilingual paralegal support for patent filings, prosecutions, litigation and so forth.

Translation by word count:
A typical Japanese patent takes about several days to translate. One page which is filled with Japanese text costs approximately $150. A typical short Japanese patent will cost about $700 to $1,200 to translate. An estimate for translating into Japanese is easier for you to do. Multiply the word count of your English original by $0.30. This will give you the exact price of our translation.

Summary translation:
We could provide you with a summary of a document and thereby, you can avoid the cost of full translation. More importantly, you can save your time, the most scarce commodity, in addition to your client's money. For example, you may choose to have us summarize a binder full of prosecution history. A 4-inch binder full of prosecution history will cost you approximately $1,200 to $2,000 to summarize. A full translation would cost more than $10,000.

Japanese patent search:
The patent search is performed using the Japanese Patent Office Web Site Online Database. You specify the screening criteria and we perform our search on the database.

Web Site Translation

Having your web site in Japanese would open up new business opportunities to you. Web site translation is one of the most cost-effective ways of entering the Japanese market.

Japan is the second largest economy in the world and they are quickly catching up with the internet age. Most of the businesses use the internet as an information resource, while many companies may not have their own web presence yet. Once you have your web site in Japanese, they can access your information in their native language.

We can help you open up an online store fully operational in the Japanese language. Alternatively, we can assist you in adding Japanese pages to your site, so that they can read about your company and your products and services.

OHASHI High Technology Corp. offers cost-effective translation services between Japanese and English. We translate technical documents, business and legal documents, patents, software and web sites. All of the translation staff have several years of translation and interpretation experience in their related fields.

Please send us an email with your URL. We can provide you with our price information.

Software Localization for Japan

OHASHI High Technology Corp. can assist you in turning your software into one which works in the Japanese language environment. Most of the of the Japanese people do not feel comfortable using English-language computer programs.

You may have designed your software with multilingual applications in mind. Then, localizing your software would be a matter of translating the text for user interface. We can do this for you and our price is based on the number of English words that needs to be translated. Our typical rate is 30 cents per English word. If the translated text needs to be incorporated into your program in specific manner, we charge you additional clerical hours for integrated translated Japanese texts into your program. The hourly rates depend on the specific skills required to accomplish the tasks which you specify. Our rates range from $20 per hour to $60 per hour for the clerical supports.

Your program may have language specific interfaces. Your program should work in most European and Asian languages. It would not, however, work correctly in Japanese in some cases. An example could be as simple as the following. Your software tells a user what time it is now. In English you may say "3:00 PM, the Eastern standard time." Your computer generates the time "3:00" and the data expressing the time appears at a certain field preceding the rest, "PM, Eastern standard time" in your program. If we translate the user interface without modifying it, your program would look very awkward to Japanese users. We have seen this particular example in our flights between the U.S. and Japan. Many flights runs a software which tells passengers information such as the air and ground speed, an exterior temperature as well as the current time. The software does not tell the time in a correct manner in Japanese.

For more detailed information, please contact us. We look forward to working with you soon.

We could give you a firm fixed price quote before we start a translation based on the word count of an original. Or, we could give you a reference price based on the word count of an original, and then give you a price based on the word count of a completed translation. In the latter case, the final price may be higher or lower than the original reference price, depending on the actual word count of the final translation.
